Position Overview

Our students deserve continuously strong teaching from the time they enter kindergarten until they graduate from college or begin a career. As such, our Teachers will work closely with each schoolâs leadership team to ensure our students learn, grow, and achieve transformative life outcomes. Each Teacher will be responsible for ensuring that our students have the opportunity to learn in an environment of joyful, excellent, and equitable teaching.

Above all else, the most effective Teacher will find joy and purpose in teaching children the habits necessary to be successful in school, and they will relish the opportunity to cultivate our students with a love for learning. They must also be committed to KIPP Public Schools Northern Californiaâs mission, while possessing the beliefs, character traits, and skills necessary to ensure student growth and achievement.

Instructional Aides/Paraeducators will assist by performing a variety of instructional and behavioral support duties to individual or small groups of students within the special education setting or regular classroom.

These duties shall be designed to complement the instructional program to maximize the learning opportunity for the inclusion student. Instructional Aides/Paraeducators will also assist in the establishment and implementation of appropriate classroom and school-wide behavior and perform a routine of clerical tasks as assigned.

Work is performed under the supervision of the principal or direct manager.

Under the direction of the Lead Teacher, work with students in small groups or in one-to-one assignments to tutor, reinforce, or follow up learning activities in core academic, language, and/or specialized subject areas.

Collaborate with & assist classroom teachers in preparing materials, maintaining a safe classroom environment, creating curriculum modifications for students, and reviewing/correcting student work assignments.

Provide testing accommodations, including supervising students completing tests in a separate location or during an extended time.
